2nd Annual EIC ELM Portfolio Meeting
The FUNGATERIA consortium is delighted and honoured to have particpated in second annual meeting of The European Innovation Council (EIC) ELMs Portfolio managed by European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). The meeting was held on September 18th and prefaced the The Fourth International Conference on Engineered Living Materials which gathered communities of material science, synthetic biology, biotechnology, biophysics and design, interested in programming and creating materials with life-like capabilities.
The ELM Portfolio meeting and broader conference was held in Saarbrücken, Germany, and hosted at Saarland University. There were 140 attendees, including representatives of the EIC ELMs portfolio projects BioRobot-MiniHeart, Bio-HhOST, Fungateria, NEXTSKINS EU, LoopOfFun ELMs, PRISM-LT and Sumo.
The EIC ELMs symposium was opened and closed by inspiring talks from @Jamie Davies, Univ. of Edinburgh from the EIC Pathfinder Open project CyGenTiG - Cybergenetic Tissue Engineering - EU Project, Chao Zhong, Shenzhen Institute. The meeting also provided the opportunity to welcome and introduce the new EIC biotech Programme Manager, Dr. Orsolya Symmons to the EIC ELMs projects and the ELMs community at large.Â
